Shoe Goo Sucks

I haven't made a post for a while so I thought I'd voice my opinion on Shoe Goo, a product that fixes torn or worn skate shoes. Sure the prospect sounds good on paper but at the end of the day its durability vs a nice shoe, would you rather have a nice pair of shoes or have a pair that last forever but feel like complete crap on your feet? This is the problem with Shoe Goo, it feels nasty and gives you no grip whatsoever. I went to London this sunday just gone with my two week old pair of Vans covered in shoe goo, I regretted it, they looked trampy (not that this is really a problem, I mean at the end of the day they're skate shoes), the real problem came when trying to pull off tricks. They didn't feel or look as nice. At the end of the day I wouldn't recommend using Shoe Goo, I've now since gone back to my old Nike Mavrks as my Vans are pretty much unskateable now.

Sunday wasn't necessarily all bad though. We went to the new shoreditch box mall, all sorts of stuff to be found there; a DC shop, a Vans shop, a Routeone store and a Volcom store being the highlights. Good stuff to be found, go there.

Afterwards we went to London Bridge skatepark, an undercover park filled with piss, shit and dead pigeons. Bit of a love hate relationship really, it's a pretty good park despite all that crap. Finally learnt nose slides there too, definitely looking forward to doing some when our new park comes. Its only what, 8 weeks now until it's finished? hshhghghhregfhvvvhbchekeryr

Another rainy day

lovely weather
Once again in the not so sunny suburbs of Cheshunt, the weather is wet, cold and just depressing really. Can't skate and can't play Resident Evil because i'm sitting here doing my photography work that takes forever...

Day 8

Day 8 and i'm back to my usual routine of walking home through Cheshunt park to see how the skatepark is coming along, and it's coming on nicely. The Builders are probably getting a bit creeped out though considering I walk through there everyday and take a picture from the same spot...
But besides the point, I think I can speak for everyone when I say I cant wait to see it finished so we can skate it, and it'l be good to get something of our own on this blog, with all the new ideas we have.

Eurgh More Wet Weather - Day 6

The weather is literally depressing and made me think of a good idea, I want to clean out my garage to skate on wet/snowy days, I know it's not much but it's sure as hell better than looking at the rain from my window.

It's not like I'm gonna miss much today anyhow, I've got to go to work in an hour and 15 minutes. Works gonna be busy too, always is on rainy days.

School...

So whilst the weather outside is all doom and gloom, im sat in school, in a computer room, in my photography class. I'm supposed to be using photoshop to make a background for my powerpoint, but damn, I have no clue on how the hell to do it and my extremely fine teacher isn't in to tell me how to do it. So to pass some time i'm watching the berrics, playing some pacman and checking out the blog whilst eating some angel cake.
Hopefully the weathers better later so I can actually go on skate for once, if not I guess it's a chill at Jordans house watching skate DVD's and drinking tea.

Brandon Westgate Is A Nut Job

Woah

Wet Weather, Day 4

The lovely weather from yesterday has been replaced by wind, rain and overcast skys, trademark of our little European island. Times like these just make me want to up and move to sunnier climes, somewhere like California or spain, but oh well, scrap that, it's only approximately nine weeks and three days until our park is finished.

Pablo enjoying the beautiful weather

On a cheerior note, I recieved my new Creature through the post from native skatestore today, ungripped, packed full of stickers and a stencil. I was looking forword to skate it, but as usual the Cheshunt weather wasn't so kind. The board is looking fresh and I'm hoping that tommorow the weather will let up so I can make it a little rough around the edges, I've already kinda done that though, what with my terrible gripping skills.

Fresh new board, shame about my terrible grip job.

Just Introducing Myself

Jordan here, right, I take it I'll be the one telling you guys about new trick thursdays, basically what we will have going down in 10 weeks, we didn't one want to be a boring blog, uploading uninspiring videos. We've decided to keep it real by inroducing our new weekly project, basically we have a different person every week trying something new at the skatepark and we mean anything by saying this. Hosting this beauty will fall to the whole group with the main hosts being my wonderful self, Jaymo, Rhys and our token batty man, Lucas, AKA my competition for everything. Deciding these new tricks will fall down to the group, no skate dice needed.

We also have a trick of the week going on too, this breaks down to banging the best trick, obviously the best will be me, winning the video upload every week, we won't go into detail, I don't really want to gloat.

But anyway enough of these antics, you'll see it when you see it. So you're wondering why it's called Mundells Skate Blog? It's basically where we've been skating from the beginning, it's where I used to live. We skated there all the time and eventually after being moved on multiple times and threatened with asbo's we decided to move our shenigans down to Cheshunt park football courts (our skatepark at this moment in time) where tons of tricks have gone down. But I miss the days of waxing the curb in Mundells to see who could get the longest 50-50, and manualling the whole street because I thought I was a badman.

But moving on, with the skatepark coming I can't see anything better happening. Also the council has been kind enough to fund an opening event, everyone is welcome, even the scooter kids I say with great pain. We are having an opening video to the skatepark, anyone can be filmed and it will be a great day. Anyway I look forward to speaking and voicing my opinions on all of the wonderful aspects of having a skatepark in Cheshunt.

Day 3

It's been a pretty sick day really, good to see the skatepark finally happening in our own town. Three and a half years we've been trying for this and shit's finally going down. Gone will be the days of wasting time on money on public transport to get to places like London or Harlow, the usual places we go to skate.

Everyone has been hyped today with tricks being banged all over the house, games of skate being the weapon of choice. Yesterday we had a team game last about an hour, with everyone feeling conked out by the end of it. Stupidly, in a split second decision of being frustrated with a trick, I booted the middle of my cliche and snapped half of the right side of it. Today I have been skating with a piece of griptape over the snapped part to hold it together until my new board arrives tommorrow.

Griptape preventing it from snapping. Ghetto

There's gonna be all sorts going on when it's finished, with us unveiling 'new trick thursdays'. I'll let someone else describe the nitty gritty details some other time.

Aside from all this happy clappy cheeryness, the young locals have been opening up the fences to the site, climbing in and throwing rocks, dirt, llamas, you name it, they've thrown it. I wouldn't mind but we've waited too long for these little pricks to come along and take the piss. The fact is they are probably going to be use this skatepark themselves when it's completed to scooter, get in the way and just be plain nuisances. Little ungrateful chavs are all we need when it's finished.

Day 3 of the skatepark...

So everyday after school, i go out of my way to walk past the skatepark and get a picture, its good to see the park coming on nicely
